Here at Little Orchard Learning Center, we know that parents have many questions about their child's education. That's why we've put together this list to help answer some of the most common questions we receive.
What meals do you have available?
All of our meals meet the highest quality standards set by the Federal Food Program. Children present during our designated meal times will be served breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack. We prepare them in a clean and safe environment, using only fresh ingredients.
Is there a before and aftercare program?
Yes, we offer both before and aftercare programs for families. Our program helps working parents with their childcare needs. If you're searching for a program for your child, you may also consider our preschool programs.
What is a typical day like for my kid?
A typical day at Little Orchard Learning Center is always full of fun and learning. Children begin the day with a cheerful welcome from our staff. They then have free time to explore the classroom, play with friends, or choose an activity from our activity board. We also gather for group activities, such as singing songs or reading a story.
What items does my child need to bring to school?
We ask that each child has:
One change of clothes which includes shoes and socks in case of an accident If your kid must have diapers and wipes, please bring these as well A blanket keeps them comfortable during rest time, and they can stay at the center or come home with them each day. Please provide us with at least one photo of your child and their family. We'll post it in the classroom so the children can see them regularly throughout the day. A water bottle that students need to take home every Friday to clean.
Every item your child brings must have labels with their name. Also, please be aware that we do not allow outside food because other children may have severe allergies. (We can work with you if your child has specific dietery needs.)
Are there any extracurricular activities offered?
We offer a variety of activities for children to enjoy, including:
Arts and crafts Outdoor play Group games Music Dance
Good Schools Guide notes these activities assist your child in developing their abilities outside of the classroom and may spark new interests. So, we encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities.
What is your policy on discipline?
At Little Orchard Learning Center, we believe in positive reinforcement. We use a rewards system to encourage good behavior.
If a child exhibits disruptive or unsafe behavior, we will work with the family to develop a plan that promotes positive choices.
